Privacy Policy

How Amp & Axe handles the information you choose to keep with the service.

Last updated August 15, 2026

Amp & Axe helps musicians catalog their equipment and preserve its history. This policy explains what information Amp & Axe processes, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information you provide

Depending on how you use Amp & Axe, you may provide:

  • Account and authentication information, including your email address and account identifier.
  • Gear details such as manufacturer, model, serial number, location, condition, value, notes, and tags.
  • Photos and PDF documents such as receipts or appraisals.
  • Stories, service history, and other content you add to an item.
  • Messages and attachments you send to Amp & Axe support.

How information is used

Amp & Axe uses this information to provide and secure the service, authenticate your account, store and display your collection, support sharing features, respond to support requests, diagnose problems, and protect users and the service.

Private and shared information

Inventory is private by default. If you deliberately enable an unlisted link or publish an item to the public feed, Amp & Axe displays only the fields intended for sharing. Private fields—including serial numbers, private notes, location, purchase price, current value, documents, and non-primary private attachments—are not included in public item responses.

Service providers

Amp & Axe relies on service providers to operate the application. These currently include Clerk for authentication, Amazon Web Services for application hosting, databases, and file storage, and Expo Application Services for mobile application build and delivery tooling. Apple and Google may process information when you obtain or use Amp & Axe through their stores and platforms.

Retention and deletion

Information is kept while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. You can delete your Amp & Axe data from the Account screen. Deletion removes active inventory records, stories, sharing settings, and attachments. Residual copies may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until those backups expire through the normal retention cycle.

Security

Amp & Axe uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, private object storage, access controls, and managed authentication. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Amp & Axe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change as Amp & Axe develops. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
